Greetings to the participants of the 62nd International Mathematical Olympiad from Alexander Dyukov

Dear colleagues,

Mathematics is one of the core sciences – without which humanity’s development simply cannot be imagined. Mathematics’ importance to the world cannot help but grow – particularly today, when digital technology is developing apace and which, one way or another, is dependent on mathematical models.

The oil and gas industry holds a great many complex and interesting challenges for mathematicians. We are very keen to see as many strong mathematicians as possible in both Russia, and the world. Which is why we are creating opportunities for further studies in the sciences – even at school – in many regions, as well as offering students and young mathematicians scholarships and grants.

I wish all participants in the 62nd International Mathematical Olympiad every success! You’ve already achieved something remarkable in getting this far! And there’s no doubt: an Olympiad isn’t just a chance to take another step forward in studying mathematics – it’s also a chance to make new friends!
