The contest days are over!
This year, 619 schoolchildren from 107 countries took part in the Olympiad. The contest included two rounds of three tasks each. Participants were given 4.5 hours to solve them.
The questions covered topics different areas of mathematics — geometry, number theory, algebra, and combinatorics. While the coordinators and the jury are summing up the results, participants will be offered various online activities: lectures from leading mathematicians, excursions around St. Petersburg, masterclasses, and much more.
For the leaders of national teams and independent coordinators, the most important time is coming: it is necessary to check and evaluate more than 600 works, to agree on points in accordance with the criteria. And after the results are counted, places and medals will be distributed.
On July 24, a Grand closing ceremony will be held at the Herzen University in virtual format.
